Muay Thai vs Tae Kwon Do

I happen to see this video n you tube titled Muay Thai vs Tae Kwon Do. The tilte does not seems much right as different practitioner of both the fighting arts have different level of performance. It depends on the practitioner of the Art how much talent one has, how much effort has been put in learning the art, not only the physical aspect of training but the theories and mental aspects are important too.

This bout where it happened I don't know but it does reflects the difference of training methods used for both the competitor. The Mua Thai fighter moves in ready to take and deliver the kicks and punches. The Tae Kwon Do practitioner is constantly trying to maintain a distance, refusing to take blows and finding a way to deliver one.

The roundhouse kicks to the thigh, the most frequent technique used by Muay Thai fighters, the Tae Kwon Do practitioner is not accustomed to such attacks and is seen succumbing to the powerful and effective kicks to the back of the thighs.

I feel the ability and readiness to take physical punishment is one of the needs to face a Muay Thai fighter.
